Internships

| More

Ready to dig in and get your hands dirty? This is your chance to experience the public relations industry first hand. If you’re hoping for an easy, 9-5 routine, you’d probably be better off looking elsewhere (and finding a different career field). But if you’re up for a challenging, exciting position where no two days are the same, keep reading.

CRT/tanaka’s internship program offers college juniors, seniors and recent graduates the opportunity to learn and develop the skills necessary for a successful career in the public relations field. As an intern, you will be assigned to a specific practice area within CRT/tanaka. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: conducting research, copywriting, brainstorming, planning, media pitching and event coordination. We make it a priority to give each intern a well-rounded experience that translates in the classroom and in the real world.

Intern candidates should possess an entrepreneurial spirit, excellent critical thinking and writing skills, and a basic understanding of public relations and marketing. Candidates should have a natural curiosity, a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic and a team-oriented attitude. These characteristics helped make CRT/tanaka what it is today, and it’s what will continue to make us one of the best public relations agencies in the nation.

Think this might be the place for you? CRT/tanaka offers paid internships in all office locations. Students currently enrolled in college or high school also may apply for an unpaid externship experience, which could include short-term job shadowing or longer-term opportunities (for academic credit only).

While the deadline to apply for the summer 2013 internship program has passed, we accept applications year round and will consider them if a position becomes available. Applications for the 2014 summer internship program will likely be due the first week in February, but please monitor this site for updates.

To apply, you will need a resume, cover letter (please include the date which you are available to begin work and the office location for which you are applying) and two or three writing samples. Successful candidates will submit materials that reflect careful thought and consideration about the knowledge and skills they have built through prior experiences, and why they are relevant.

If you are interested in one of these positions, please use the form below to send your resume, cover letter and writing samples. If you’d rather use snail mail, please identify the correct person listed below and mail your materials to their attention.
